Space Travel Exploration

Space Travel Exploration – 2008

Edited by Andrew Salerno

Made at Temple University

All of the footage and sound used in this came from archive.org, a free website to download public domain clips and videos. Our final project for the editing course was a free for all experimentation. Any footage assembled in a creative way to dictate some kind of view or emotion. I decided on a space theme because I wanted to do something visually arresting and energetic.

Some of the 50’s space age films were wild. The hokey music and their depictions of what being in space would be like are tremendously cheesy and hilarious but also indicative of how badly America wanted to get into space. I wish there was still that widespread desire today.
